Crazy Hair and a New Ride!

 

Owen got a new cool car which he LOVES!

 

I am having glimpses of him being 17, driving in his car with the windows down and the music up.

 

Owen’s hair is quite interesting these days! It is growing in with the cutest curls! It is quite out of control most of the time. It is just now starting to grow on the top as well.

What have I been up to???

 

We have had a wonderful month. DADDY IS HOME! YAH!!!!!

I have played outside a lot in the leaves and have helped water my fun flowers that are beginning to grow.

Book- Start Here- Doing Hard Things Right Where You Are

Start Here is the follow up to the book Do Hard Things written by these twin brothers. It is an inspiring book focused on the youth group age; but also good for adults to read. I think this would be a great study done by a church group. The writers tell stories of how teens are doing important things, both big and small, in their world. It shows how teens can make a difference.

The book also has the great message of where our hearts are when we do these great things. It is all for the glory of the Lord, not for our own selfish glory. This is such an important things for us all to remember.

The First Step to this way of thinking is outlined in chapter 2. It says that nothing we do for the Lord is insignificant. When we come to realize this, we will not be upset by doing the small things. “ Remember, neither fame nor obscurity is the goal. The goal is obedience to God, effectiveness in whatever he gives us to do, and a heart that glorifies Him.”

I definitely recommend this book for all Christian audiences, especially teens. It would be a great study for youth groups.

With Owen having pneumonia last month, it caused him to lose a pound. I am not too concerned about his weight, i am sure he will put it back on quickly.

Airplane Watching

 

Owen’s 1st Birthday!

Hi, this is Owen! I had a wonderful first birthday celebration with family and friends!

Mommy made me a bunch of homemade things to help me celebrate. She worked very hard on this birthday banner that we put up in the dining room.

Since the “theme was Winter ONEderland, Mommy made me a cheese ball igloo with olive penguins.

There was a yummy cake and cupcakes (I EVEN GOT TO HAVE ONE!)

        

I got to spend time with my family.

I walked around having a great time!

There was a lot of yummy food.

I got to play with my friends!

I got so many generous gifts!

Then everyone sang to me and Mommy put something weird on my tray…

     

The cupcake was so yummy. I hope Mommy brings me another one soon. I think I catch her sneaking leftovers in the kitchen when she thinks I am not looking. Maybe Daddy will give me another one.

Then I got really hyper! I got to stay up past my bedtime playing with family that was in town!

It was a great day. I am really excited too because Daddy is coming home TOMORROW and I will celebrate my birthday with him too. He has been gone for TOO LONG!
