Almost week 8

Tomorrow is the start of week 8! I thought i would go ahead and post since I am currently out of town, and I am not sure how often I will be able to get online this week.

I have been feeling much better in the last few days. My doctor switched my anti-nausea medications and it is like night and day. I found my appetite again on Friday, but then lost it on Saturday. I am just concerned right now with drinking enough and taking my Flintstones vitamins!

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

And again, this is not OUR baby, but a photo of what a baby at 8 weeks looks like! SO CUTE!

My 7.5 week belly!

This is not baby, it is just gross bloating you get when you are first pregnant! But I still look big!

Please excuse my shorts. They are just so comfortable! :)

And just for comparison, this was my belly pre-pregnancy! This is the ONLY bare belly shot i will EVER post!

7 weeks along- doing much better!

We are now 7 weeks along! Woo-hoo. It is progressing quite quickly. I am currently starting to feel a little better- finally. I spent the weekend really really sick to my stomach and throwing up! But this week is going much better so far. I can actually eat!!!

This week our baby is the size of a blueberry!

Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about 100 new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place

Scary Moment

Well I have been very very sick all week. To the point where I have had a hard time eating anything at all except for cheerios! The thought of cheese or tomatoes (my two favorite things in the world) has been just grossing me out!!!!! Well yesterday while on my lunch break, I actually passed out when standing up and I hit my head pretty bad!!! So I called my OB very quickly and they agreed to see me yesterday afternoon. I called John and he rushed home to be with me.

I was not really worried about the baby, just worried about the huge bump on my head!

We went to the doctor and she said i most likely do not have a concussion, no signs of it, but to just keep an eye on it. She also gave me an internal exam and everything looked/felt fine. She scheduled me to get an ultrasound today! (Friday)

Well I just got home from the ultrasound and everything looks good. I was able to see the everything I should be able to see at this point, including a tiny heartbeat! I could see the baby, but obviously it did not look like anything really at this point. She said i was measuring at about 6 weeks and I think i should be about 6 weeks 4 days so it is pretty accurate. She said the ultrasound can be up to a week off in age. But the fact it has a hearbeat is fantastic!!!!

Now we just have to decide when we want to tell people! A few close girlfriends know, but we need to decide when to tell family. Now that we have seen a heartbeat we feel more confident to share news!!!!

Here is a picture of what our baby looks like at this point. This is not OUR baby, but just a photo of what a baby the same age looks like.

6 Weeks- Baby is the size of a sweet pea

Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Those little hands and feet- still webbed like paddles- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

WE ARE PREGNANT

We are so excited to say that we are expecting a little one! We found out on Sunday July 6th that we are pregnant. Today, July 15th, we are 6 weeks/ 1 day pregnant. Right now it looks like our due date will be around March 9th. We have an appointment with the obgyn on Wednesday August 6th which will hopefully measure the baby and confirm the due date.

Right now Amy is so incredibly sick. Last week it was just nausea but this week it is just an utter lack of wanting to even look at food! We are hoping that this is a sign it is a healthy baby! :)

Here are the pictures of the pregnancy tests. It is pretty hard to see, but we know what they mean! :)
