4 month comparison

Owen at 4 months
Greyson at 4 months

4 months old

My little bubby (my nickname for Grey) is 4 months old!!!! WOW! How did this happen? I know all moms say this but i just can not imagine our world without the little guy!

We recently went to Pennsylvania (and Ohio) and my great friend Lisa did some family photos for us. It was 2 days before Grey's 4 month birthday so we went ahead and did his month-day photos as well.
At his 4 month appointment :

Weight- 13.2lbs (exactly Owens weight at 4 months)

Height- 25 inches

Overall- perfect!
I just love this little munchkin so much. I would be much happier if he choose to sleep more though. We are currently experiencing the 4 month wakeful period and it is making me SO TIRED!!!! Last night he was up 6 times. Yikes!!!

I can't wait to see what the next month brings!

nursing help needed

We have had a rough few weeks! I can't believe it has been so long since i posted.

A few weeks ago i started coughing, bad. I went to the doc 3x in 2 weeks and had 3 different riunds of antibiotics. After that I went back because it was not working at all. My doc finally did an xray and then immediately sent me to a pulmonologist.

After looking at my xray he immediately told me i had pneumonia and a double lung infection. YIKES. He immediately put me on about 7 different medications. One of which was an antibiotic that he said I did not have a choice in taking. I had already been on 3 others that did not work so this was the last one to try.

This medication made it so that I had to stop breastfeeding Greyson....

Devastating.

I started pumping several times a day to try and keep up my supply, but now, one week later, I am afraid that our nursing relationship may be over.

I am able to nurse him again, but he does not seem very interested unless he is super sleepy. I have been pumping and not getting anything out at all. I have been taking fenugreen ( 3 caps, 3 times daily) and mothers milk plus (1 cap, 3 times daily), drinking tons of water, nursing as much as he will allow.

But he is still eating mostly formula. And I am devastated.

I know that formula is not the devil, i know it is not going to hurt my child. But i have fought really hard to nurse him these past 3.5 months and now to think it may be over absolutely kills me.

Do you guys have any tips on how to raise my milk level at 3.5 months??/

Rollin Rollin

Today at 10 weeks 6 days Grey rolled over from belly to back for the first time!!!

Pre-K 3

On August 24th Owen started his 2nd year of preschool. When did my boy get so big? I asked him 15 questions that I plan to ask him each year on the first day of school.

He has really enjoyed going to school. Each morning he wakes up asking me if it is a school day. He gets so excited to see his teachers and friends.

I can't wait to watch him grow up even more! :)

A day with trains

This past weekend we headed to Apex, NC to visit a great train museum. They have train rides each hour on one day a month, and Owen could not have been more excited! At the front of the area they had set up some G scale trains. Owen enjoyed seeing Thomas, and Amtrak, and the other trains riding around.

Then we headed to the train we were to take a ride on. It was pulled by a diesel train. We took Greyson with us as well which was probably a mistake because he got SUPER hot even when we stripped down all of his clothes and fanned him off. Owen had a blast though.

Owen loved looking out the sides of the open car at the Forrest.

We had a great time at the New Hope Valley Railway! We hope to go back at least once more before we move to an unknown location!

Greyson- 2 month stats

Greyson,

You have been in our little family for 2 months. I almost can not imagine you not being with us! We headed back to Dr. Burgurts office last week and got your stats. You are in the 10th percentile for everything which is amazing because last month he was not even on the charts!

Weight- 9.1lbs

Height- 22inches

Head- 15 inches

You had a great appointment and he is doing so wonderfully. You are finally gaining weight, almost all on breast-milk, and any health issues seem to be gone.

At 2 months Baby Grey you are sleeping really well. You normally  go down around 730pm. You wake up to eat around 3-4am to eat, then back down till about 7am. During the day we are trying to figure out a good nap schedule around Owen’s school schedule.

You have become such a sweet smiley boy. Owen makes you grin the most, followed by Mommy and Daddy.

You are such a lovely wonderfully blessing to our family. I can’t wait to watch you continue to grow up! We love you Grey!

Love Momma!

A day at the airport

On saturday we headed to the airport where one of John’s airplanes was available for a tour. DSC_0101DSC_0090DSC_0092DSC_0093
The pilots son decided it would be fun to push tons of buttons and try on a helmet!

Poppop also got to go inside the airplane for the first time which was pretty special. Here are the 3 generations!

Fun at the drop-zone and train chasing

On Friday Owen and Pop-Pop (who is in town from PA for a short visit) went train chasing. They both have a love of trains and wanted to enjoy some special time together. But first they went out to one of the Drop-Zones to watch one of John’s airplanes do a drop.
Owen had fun playing in the dirt! Well actually the sand. We have sand here not dirt!

There was a bit of a wait for the drop to happen so Owen was entertained by going for a ride on the Gator and by playing with out other friend in town, Mr. Dennis (that is his motorcycle).

I am told the drop was really cool! Owen loves watching the planes fly around and it is even better when they are shoving cool stuff out of the back!

We are super proud of Daddy and the work that he does!

Owen had a great day with Pop-pop. They were out from 10am-6pm. He can’t wait until we make a trip to Pennsylvania so they can do more train chasing.
