- take three short naps a day
- nurse 6-7 times a day
- Weight- 15.14lbs- 35th percentile

- are absolutely perfect to mommy and daddy!
Here is how much Owen has changed in the last 6 months!
We love you Owen!
Owen had his 6 month appointment today (one day early). It went GREAT!!!!
He finally gained enough weight to make the doctor happy- and without me really changing anything i have been doing. She had asked me before to start feeding him formula to fatten him up, but i really did not want to stop breastfeeding him so I did not exactly listen to her advice. Well I am glad I did not because he gained enough!
I like his pediatrician, but I wish she was more pro breastfeeding. It was always so weird to me that she was so quick to suggest formula!
But now it is not an issue, he does not need to go back and see her until November because he is now in the 35th percentile for weight.
His stats:
Weight- 15.14lbs- 35th percentile
Height- 26.1 inches- 50th percentile
Head circumference- 43cm’s- 35th percentile
YAH! What a great visit and a great day!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, is Johns 27th birthday.
For his gift, Owen and I were crafty and made him this photo frame.
I was afraid John would find it totally lame, but he loved it! Owen and I had a great time taking pictures for it. Here are a few more.
Happy Birthday John. Thanks for being a wonderful husband and a great father!
Owen likes to use these little things for all kinds of biting, my fingers, my shoulder, when I am nursing him… OUCH! I try telling him no but he is really too young to understand! I just can’t believe our little guy has two teeth already!!!!!
All is forgiven when he flashes that adorable smile!
Owen can officially roll from his back to his belly, and then back over to his back again. He has been doing it occasionally for a week or so now, but yesterday he continually did it. If I walked away for even a second he would be on his belly. Daddy even got to see him do it last night for the first time.
Next up, sitting.
We have a second tooth as of today!!! If you look closely you can see a little tooth bud to the left of his other, now much larger, tooth!
For the past week or so Owen has not been sleeping. Where did my great little 10+ hour a night sleeper go? Well apparently he is TEETHING because yesterday we could see a tiny white spot on his gum, and today he has a tooth!
Check it out…
And the close up version. If you click on the photo, it will get bigger.
Hopefully since the tooth has officially broken through he will be a better sleeper tonight. It has been a hellish 4 days of him waking up at least every hour needing comforting (which i dont mind doing, mama is just EXHAUSTED!).
The lack of sleep reminds me of the first week home with him, only no Mom Mom to help out!
But instead Owen and I took some pictures and then realized we had not posted some cute ones from last week!
Owen fell asleep on the couch with me last week and I moved away to get some great pictures. He is such an adorable sleeper!
Oops we woke the sleeping baby!
Owen eating peas, he actually liked them!
Some cute pictures we took just now. He is getting so big!
I think he ALMOST looks a little like me in this one.. what do you guys think?
OK i guess he still looks just like a little John. At least he got my toes i guess. Not that there is anything wrong with Johns toes, it is just nice for him to have SOMETHING of mine! :)
We have been busy this week with a visit from Aunt Michelle and preparing for Johns Dad, Grandma, and brother Sam to arrive for a week. The guys will be working on a shed in our back yard and Grandma will help me out with the baby. I have so much cleaning and organizing that I still want to get done and it will be great to have an extra pair of hands around.
I also spend a while this week making baby food for Owen. So far I have made sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, peaches, and bananas. It is so easy to do, so much healthier, and amazingly cheaper. If anyone wants information on how to do this go to http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/.
We hope everyone is having a great week :)
